Roy Farrant

Roy graduated from Kings College London with a BSc in Mathematics and from there trained at what was then Peat Marwick Mitchell (now KPMG) as a chartered accountant.  He worked in industry for several years, as finance director for manufacturing companies, before returning to practice where he helped many owner-manged businesses with their finances and tax issues.  Now semi-retired, Roy still works as a finance director for about a day per week.

Roy grew up in a Baptist family, undertaking all sorts of roles within his local church.  He met his wife Jan there.  Three children have long since developed their own independent lives:  some have remained within the Baptist family, though the oldest works for the Church of Scotland!

Roy is church secretary at Christ Church Baptist Kings Langley, a church of sixty-odd members with a very big heart and a commitment to being “alive with the presence and worship of God”.

Always a keen amateur singer (with his name on a Sing Good News LP sleeve!) he is currently treasurer for Harrow Choral Society, where he takes part in performances of many of the great choral traditional repertoire.

Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello

Welcome to the website of The Central Baptist Association. We look after about 150 Baptist churches across Northamptonshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire, including Milton Keynes.  If you are looking to find a specific church near you then please click here.

Who we are

We have a team of four Regional Ministers, led by Lisa Kerry, alongside Mary Moody, Nathan Toseland and Andrew Openshaw. Andrew is also the association secretary. Our moderator is Maureen Hider and our treasurer is Roy Farrant. Jane Day is the course tutor for The Learning Collective.

What we do

We support ministers and churches by 'walking together in ministry and mission'. This includes providing pastoral care for ministers, advice to churches, guiding the settlement process, encouraging churches in their mission, providing training opportunities, encouraging networking, talking ecumenically, and offering small grants.
