Carey Baptist, Hemel Hempstead
Carey has just celebrated 340 years of Baptist witness in Hemel Hempstead. We celebrated in some style with food from around the world and with a special anniversary cake made by Jailza from Brazil, who has been recently joining us, with her son, at Sunday worship. (see photos)
Carey has been encouraged by the numbers of young families from a wide variety of origins, who have been joining us recently. But we are conscious that we face a range of challenges, as well as finding new leaders for Junior Church and for the church as a whole. Parking and finances are both issues which have been challenging us recently. We need, as ever, to ask for an increase in faith and to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus during a troubling time for our communities and our nation. In the next few months, a large complex of flats will be built close to our church building, which will quickly increase our immediate mission field. So our prayer, in this season of a big potential harvest but few workers, is for the Lord of the harvest to send workers into the harvest field.
We continue to thank God for being clearly at work in Hemel Hempstead. A PowerPoint presentation can be downloaded here Prayer-Focus 9 Carey Hemel Hempstead
