Lisa is married to Alan, a retired GP, and they have two adult daughters. She has a background in nursing, latterly interventional radiology, before training for Baptist ministry at Spurgeon’s College in London, where she also completed a Masters on “Celebrity Ministers”. Currently Lisa is studying for a PhD in Practical Theology through Bristol Baptist College, focussing on exploring the role of professionalism and standardisation in Baptist Ministry formation.
In 2013 Lisa joined the ministry team at Croxley Green Baptist church, Hertfordshire where she was responsible for a wide range of areas of church life. One key initiative has been to set up with an Anglican colleague a CIO to employ two Parish Nurses. In 2021, Lisa was appointed Team Leader of the church.
Lisa has been involved in the network of Baptist churches in Hertfordshire, building links with local ministers. She has served the Central Baptist Association and the Baptist Union on committees for the recognition and accreditation of students and ministers, and a recent initiative to enhance the profile of women ministers in the Baptist Union. She was part of the editorial team of “The Bible Speaks Today” Bible.
Lisa comments, “I am incredibly honoured and excited about this new role, but also humbled by the size of the task. I am really looking forward to getting to know this new role, praying that I will be able to offer love and care to help ministers and churches thrive”.
