Dear friends. You will probably have picked up that Geoff Colmer was recently admitted to hospital for tests having experienced significant back pain for some weeks. Please see below an update from Geoff. We ask for your continued holding of Geoff & Cazz & their wider family in your love and prayers.

I am for the first time ever, I think, off sick! I wanted to update you about my situation. I have been greatly encouraged by the concern that you have shown and the prayers you have offered for me and my family.
This is to say that the back pain that I am experiencing is linked to multiple spinal fractures and broken bones in ribs and has been confirmed to be secondaries of myloma. As you may know this is a serious bone marrow cancer, a blood cancer. Whilst this condition is ultimately incurable, it is very treatable and will allow me, with some disruption from the after-effects of treatment, to pursue my intention to continue in my role with the Association and also to take up the Presidency of the Baptist Union in 2021. I will continue to be attentive to rhythms of grace, especially in vulnerability, an angle that I had not originally intended.
Thank you again for your concern and your prayers.
Geoff Colmer
