About Us

The Central Baptist Association (CBA) is one of 13 Regional Associations that along with the Baptist Colleges and the Specialist Teams are part of the Baptist Union of Great Britain (Baptists Together). Covering the ceremonial counties of Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Northamptonshire, the CBA has around 150 churches with a combined membership of about 11,000 (including Local Ecumenical Partnerships).

Our aim is best summed up by our strap-line “walking together in ministry and mission”. The Association has a very broad remit, that includes such things as providing pastoral care for ministers, offering advice to churches, guiding the settlement process, encouraging churches in their mission, providing training opportunities, encouraging networking, and talking ecumenically. As such we seek to ‘walk with’ churches and ministers, as we journey together in ministry and mission. One practical expression of the shared journey is the provision of grants, both for one-off projects and for long-term growth.

Welcome to the website of The Central Baptist Association. We look after about 150 Baptist churches across Northamptonshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire, including Milton Keynes. If you are looking to find a specific church near you then please click here.

Who we are

We have a team of four Regional Ministers, led by Lisa Kerry, alongside Mary Moody, Nathan Toseland and Andrew Openshaw. Andrew is also the association secretary. Our moderator is Maureen Hider and our treasurer is Roy Farrant. Jane Day is the course tutor for The Learning Collective.

What we do
