Announcement regarding Ministerial Recognition Rules on Marriage...

Dear friends,

As you will no doubt be aware BU Council meets this week to discern the way forward regarding the possible change to the Ministerial Recognition Rules on marriage. This will be a crucial moment in our life together and so Andrew, Maureen and I really appreciate your prayers as we join council on your behalf.

The results of the consultation and discernment process will be emailed out to all ministers at 5pm on Wednesday 20th March. We realise that, whatever the outcome of the discernment process, there will be many who may feel a whole host of emotions and so we would like to offer an open invitation to ministers and church leaders to meet with members of the team on Thursday 21st for prayer and support.

Andrew will be at Princes Risborough Baptist Church for the Bucks Ministers' meeting  and will be available afterwards until 2pm.  42 Bell St, Princes Risborough HP27 0AD.

Other members of the team will be at Markyate Baptist Church between 10 am and 3pm. 13 Buckwood Rd, Markyate, St Albans AL3 8JB

We want to stress that these will be confidential, gentle, pastoral opportunities to share your feelings and concerns without judgment. Of course if you would like to talk to any of us outside those times please do get in touch.

We are holding you all in prayer as you navigate these challenging times with your churches.

Grace and peace,

Lisa

Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello

Welcome to the website of The Central Baptist Association. We look after about 150 Baptist churches across Northamptonshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire, including Milton Keynes.  If you are looking to find a specific church near you then please click here.

Who we are

We have a team of four Regional Ministers, led by Lisa Kerry, alongside Mary Moody, Nathan Toseland and Andrew Openshaw. Andrew is also the association secretary. Our moderator is Maureen Hider and our treasurer is Roy Farrant. Jane Day is the course tutor for The Learning Collective.

What we do

We support ministers and churches by 'walking together in ministry and mission'. This includes providing pastoral care for ministers, advice to churches, guiding the settlement process, encouraging churches in their mission, providing training opportunities, encouraging networking, talking ecumenically, and offering small grants.
